It may have been the fact you may have had feathers or scales, or maybe it was your guardian(s) that had those. Whatever the difference may be, it was fairly easy to tell. But you were brought up as one of their own regardless of that, spending your time by the side of the one(s) who brought you in. Maybe you helped them with their work, or maybe you would play with the other children. No matter what you did, you knew you were loved by at least one person there. And you cherished that.
