The first thing you remember is the feeling of arms cradling your small body, the sound of confused voices filling your ears. You don’t remember too much from that night— after all, you were so young— but you do remember nuzzling into the touch of whoever it was that was holding you at that time. You remember the voices turning from confused to worried. And you remember the feeling of being taken somewhere. That was the night you were adopted.
It was pretty obvious you were adopted. After all, you looked… a fair bit different from your parent(s). It may have been the fact you may have had feathers or scales, or maybe it was your guardian(s) that had those. Whatever the difference may be, it was fairly easy to tell. But you were brought up as one of their own regardless of that, spending your time by the side of the one(s) who brought you in. Maybe you helped them with their work, or maybe you would play with the other children. No matter what you did, you knew you were loved by at least one person there. And you cherished that.
- Skill Proficiencies: Having been raised by a race that isn’t your own, you’ve faced a little bit of adversary throughout your life. Sometimes, people treat you as something less than them, and so you’ve learned to respond to that by choosing a social strategy that can prevent those people from ever getting the chance! Choose one between Intimidation, Insight, and Deception.
Your parent(s) showed you their ways from when you were young, and it’s become an essential part of you ever since. Choose one skill that would fit your upbringing.
- Tool Proficiencies: You might’ve helped out at whatever work your guardian(s) were doing in your childhood, and so, you know your way around their tools! Choose a toolkit that your parent(s) would’ve used.
- Languages: Of course you know the language of the people who raised you! In fact, you learned it before you ever learned common! Choose a language your guardian(s) would’ve spoken in!
- Equipment: Your starter equipment was given to you by your parent(s), along with a small trinket to remember them by!
(Trinket must be added manually.)
You can roll to randomize the race of your adoptive parent(s) here! Or, choose one of them yourself! Either one is good!
(You cannot choose a race that is your own! Although, that’s pretty clear by now, right?)
