Your cohort was created by House Cannith during the final years of The Last War. Part of an experiment in linking the intelligences of multiple warforged entities, each of you were (and, maybe, are still) psychically networked to an over-intelligence which governed your objectives, motivations, and sometimes actions. Now, the war is ended, and, like other members of your race, you are adrift in a world not suited to your design, with a freedom that is alien to your programming. Perhaps the over-intelligence will reassert itself one day, or perhaps the path forward is truly your own.
House Cannith engineers designed each member of your cohort to serve a distinct role within the team. Your starting proficiencies and language reflect your design purpose.
- Skill Proficiencies: Your skill proficiencies were designed to fulfill a particular role within your cohort.
- Tool Proficiencies: Any tool with which you are proficient at the start is built into your body frame. As with skills, your tool proficiency reflects your design purpose.
- Languages: You know Common and one other language. Your language selection should be based on the area to which you were initially deployed.
- Equipment: The Last War has ended, and you are now on your own on Khorvaire. Your starting equipment consists of whatever items you have managed to save from the War or accrue since it ended.
When you interact with another device constructed by Cannith engineers, or of a similar style, you may choose to attempt to establish a harmonic link. Work with your DM to establish the method by which you determine whether a link is achieved. If it is achieved, the link gives advantage on any checks made in the course of interacting with the device. "Device" is a wide-range term, encompassing everything from locks to research apparatuses to other Warforged.
