This pivotal moment could have happened during your childhood when you or someone close to you was in grave danger and were saved by a lawman. In this case, you may have been in awe of the bravery and courage that this person displayed to lay down their own life to protect someone else. Perhaps, instead, you had a member of your family or a family friend who served as an enforcer of the law. This person’s service may have inspired you to follow in their footsteps or carry on their legacy. Maybe you have always been a courageous person who stands up for the weak and underpowered in society. No matter the path that led you to this position, the result is the same: You fight to preserve the law of the land. You now live your life in service to the law and justice. However, your interpretation of the law and enforcement of justice may vary greatly from another lawman. You may serve as the lone sheriff of a small town, protecting the local townspeople from roaming bandits. Or you may be a detective, working to uncover the truth behind a string of murders in a large city. Regardless of the avenue of law enforcement that you choose to follow, the result is always the same, you will fight and die to protect the law.

As a member of local law enforcement, you can always rely on the aid of other law enforcers. As a servant of the law, you hold yourself to a higher standard than most and wear your badge with honor. When in a new town or region, local law enforcement is friendlier towards you and more likely to assist you in times of need as long as you are not of opposite alignments on the Good and Evil scale. Your fellow lawmen may even be inclined to turn a blind eye to any misconduct that you may commit, although this is not always the case. When you present your badge or other signifer to indicate your status to local authorities, they may be more inclined to help you in your time of need. As a keeper of the law, you may find certain groups or factions behave in a skeptical or untrusting way towards you. Certain areas of towns or cities may be unhelpful and unwelcoming depending on their experience with their local authorities. Others you encounter may even be outright hostile towards you without being provoked due to your status as a lawman.

Lawmen are often considered lone wolves and tend to be uptight or jaded. However, an enforcer of the law does not view themselves this way but as a deliverer of justice. The creed of a lawman is truth and justice above all, and peace is always achievable. Lawmen are not known to be morally gray people and often see the world as black and white, good and evil, justice and injustice. Most lawmen are incredibly loyal to the people they protect and serve. Others may have become corrupted by the very law they swore to uphold, taking their idea of justice into their own hands to the most extreme extent.
