Lodge Mage

While the Nostrian people’s fascination with magic has its roots in their close ties to the goddess Yrd, their magical advancements are most often attributed to the eight Arcane Lodges—magical guilds led by noble houses and specializing in specific schools of magic.

The mages of the Arcane Lodges may be idolized and lauded as heroes by the Nostrian people, but their loyalties lie foremost with their individual houses. While they research magic to better life in Nostria, they also work to further their own interests at the same time. The pursuit of those interests can often spark conflicts between the lodges and government officials, as well as between one another, as some of the lodges may at times have conflicting interests.
