The Forgotten One Image

You were once part of the world—living a normal life with family, friends, and a purpose. But something inexplicable happened. You were snatched from existence, erased from memory, and now, no one remembers who you are or that you ever existed. The world itself seems to forget you the moment you leave a room, and even the gods turn a blind eye. Yet, you remember everything. Your past, your connections, and the life you once had. You are driven by the desire to reclaim your place in the world, to uncover what happened, and to ensure you are never forgotten again.

Skill Proficiencies:

  • Stealth (You’ve learned to move unnoticed, whether you want to be or not)
  • Insight (You’ve developed an acute ability to read others, knowing what it feels like to be unseen and unheard)

Tool Proficiencies: One type of artisan’s tools of your choice (perhaps from a past profession that you cling to)
Languages: One additional language of your choice (a language tied to your forgotten past or one you've picked up in your struggle to regain your place)
Equipment:

  • A set of tattered, nondescript clothes
  • A small, unmarked journal that you use to record your existence, filled with your memories
  • A token from your past life (e.g., a locket, ring, or keepsake that is proof of your former existence)
  • A pouch containing 10 gp

Feature: Vanishing Presence

You are easily overlooked, your presence like a fading memory. When you make a Charisma (Deception) check to go unnoticed or a Dexterity (Stealth) check to hide in plain sight, you can do so with advantage. Additionally, people struggle to remember you after you leave their presence. Any non-hostile creature you interact with has disadvantage on Intelligence checks to recall details about you after you’ve left their sight for more than an hour.
