You were once a prominent follower of a one of the specific gods, or a pantheon of gods, but you at some point slipped away from your religious followings. Perhaps you moved on to serve another god, feeling called to by his tricks and games. Maybe you became disillusioned with the faith, or its' overall leadership. Whatever the reason, you have now fallen away from and left your former church.
Choose a god or deity in which you formerly served and worshiped by talking it over with your Dungeon Master.
- Skill Proficiencies: Two of your choice.
- Tool Proficiencies: One of your choice.
- Languages: One of your choice.
- Equipment: A holy symbol of your former church, a prayer book, a dagger, an arcane focus, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 5 gp.
While you have become disillusioned with your formerly followed faith, you are still widely recognized as a prominent and strong member of the church you have since left. It seems that word of your leaving has not spread whatsoever. In the eyes of all churchmen of your past faith, you are still the member you once were. You and your adventuring companions can expect to receive free healing and care at a temple, shrine, or other established presence of your faith, though you must provide any material components needed for spells. Those who share your past religion will support you, (but only you,) at a modest lifestyle.
You might also have ties to a specific temple dedicated to your chosen deity or pantheon, and you have a residence there. This could be the temple where you used to serve, if you remain on good terms with it, or a temple where you have found a new home. While near your temple, you can call upon the priests for assistance, provided the assistance you ask for is not hazardous and you remain in good standing with your temple.
