After a life well lived, you have retired in your village and are well known and respected by its members and a pillar of the community. Perhaps you are involved in planning events, take care of the young, or settle disputes. You have a vast knowledge of local legends and folklore, but also of personal squabbles, family feuds, and others' well kept secrets.

Feature: My legs are grey, my ears are gnarled, my eyes are old and bent.

Lean into the image of yourself as a sad and helpless elder. Unless you break the act or seem threatening, folks will feel compassion and offer you shelter, a meal, and some comfort. In exchange, they may ask for your advice and wisdom. This temporarily fills the need for the luxuries of your own warm bed, home-cooked meals, and some companionship.
