You lived a life of high expectations, a supposed "chosen one", raised by a large group of people, maybe acolytes, maybe extended family, but nobody ever too close. Your entire life lead up to one important event that you were meant to fulfill -- But for some reason, you didn't. Maybe you ran away, or maybe the event was interrupted. Examples could be a fallen noble, a failed sacrifice, etc.
