You were captured, or born into a life of servitude under an organization that sells or deals with the trade of people. As a slave to these people you may have been exchanged between masters for years or spent your entire life in one cell forced to wait for someone to buy you. some slaves may just be a mere servant, while others may be body guard, or someone that does physical labor, although no matter what your role was, you were still treated as display for your master to show off. like a 'living' mannequin, perhaps it was demonstrate your species ability, to demonstrate the effect of potions, or to show off new clothing. Whether you were treated with cruelty or relative kindness, you were still expected to "know your place" and were punished when you stepped out of line. Toiling for another, obeying orders, and debasing yourself have been your way of life.
but in your days of servitude, you would eventually meet with an adventuring party and starting your journey to understand what true freedom feels like, or trying to rediscover that feeling, no matter what kind of slave you are your master sent you with the party for one reason or another, still keeping in close contact with you and the party, maybe due to them being a point of interest, or maybe out of your masters secret caring for your well being.
- Skill Proficiencies: You are proficient in Survival, Animal Handling, History, Religion and can choose from stealth, insight, or performance.
- Tool Proficiencies: You can choose two tools relevant to what you did as a slave.
you can also choose to have Proficiency in a land or water vehicle of you choice. - Languages: your master taught you one language of your choice, weather out of kindness or necessity, choose one extra Language.
- Equipment: Noble clothes, shackles on your wrists and neck, and a tool or weapon that your master would have reasonably been able to give you.
A slave is set to a task by their master for a reason– their purpose for even being in the position they are in, if you don't have a purpose, explain why your master brought you for a different reason (i,e to set you free, or two ask for your help casting a spell)

As a slave the higher the reputation of your master the higher respect you will get, people that know your master will be more willing to listen to what you have to say, or to listen to what someone else near you has to say, sense you are a slave you will have markings on a visible part of your body that will signify that to others.
Along with that, you can reach out to your through some sort of magical or physical means, if the means is physical it will take 1d10 days for your message to each your master, if a 1 is rolled on the d10 roll a d8 on a 1 the message fails to make it, your master can then send you back something weather that be gold or just a letter giving you what information you were trying to get or just telling you that they didn't have that information.
