You are a travelling mystical act, who tells people their fortune for a small fee. You have seen many people, some more desperate for guidance then others, visit the camp or pub you're staying at to get advice from you. You have an unexplained talent to read the stars and using them in determining fates and fortunes. Predicting love for some, while far different fates for others. Your connection with the stars, their alignments in the night’s sky, and how they represent the gods can present itself through watching the night sky, but also through other mediums like Tarot, a Crystal Ball and even hand-reading. You might have slipped a coin or two in your purse with a less than honest telling of a fortune, but you justified it by the necessity to make a living. After all it’s more about how you read their fate than what you tell them anyway. But while this all started as bullshitting for money, gradually you've discovered quite a few of your fortunes have come true, how is this even possible? The people you've been travelling with are certainly suspicious of this. Regardless of this you have a sense of drama and presenting yourself that can quite easily convince common folk to believe in what you and your fortunes have to say.
- Skill Proficiencies: Insight, Deception
- Tool Proficiencies: Playing card set
- Equipment: As a fortune teller you can choose one of the following with your starting equipment:
a crystal ball, A deck of cards, A set of dice
Your natural connection with the stars, their signs, and the gods has made you a fair living in the past. Putting that to practical use has proven to be just as beneficial. When the night sky is at least partially clear you can spend 5 minutes or more studying the constellations of the night’s sky.
You know the patterns of celestial objects, like moons and stars. Given any two of the following, you can accurately figure out the third:
- The date of the observation
- The location of the observer
- The position of celestial objects in the sky
In addition to that, you can name constellations, recall lore related to any constellation that you can see, and as long as you have a clear view of the night sky, you can always determine which way is north.
