The archdevils who rule the Seven Cities of Hell scheme endlessly. Each eternally plots to bring the others to heel—to ascend to the Throne of Hell, unite the Seven Cities and every infernal being living there, keep the inexhaustible demon scourge from spilling out of the abyss, and lead an endless army of devils across the planes until all burns.

How do they maintain this delicate balance? How to they manage to keep the abyss at bay all the while betraying and tearing their rivals down? Contracts. In opposition with the pure chaos of the demonic abyss the devils have moved toward a regimented lawful culture where contracts rule supreme. Archdevils have long since learned to bend the lawfully aligned power of their personal contracts to combat the demon hoard's chaos. This means the Archdevils need contracts. And to facilitate those contracts, they need brokers. 

A contract broker is enlisted by an Archdevil to find those willing to make a deal with a devil and then proceed to enact and facilitate said deal.
