Prerequisite: Planescape Campaign
As a sailor, pilot, caravan guide, or trail ranger in the Elemental Chaos or another elemental plane, you’re accustomed to traversing hazardous, exotic, intensely magical horizons. When confronted by an unexpected iceberg or solar flare, you know what to do to overcome the challenge. Earthquakes, avalanches, maelstroms, and tidal waves are daily fare for you.
- Skill Proficiencies: Survival and your choice of Arcana or Nature
- Tool Proficiencies: Navigator’s tools
- Languages: Primordial or another language of your choice
- Equipment: Navigator’s tools, a set of traveler’s clothes, a wooden staff, a map of your elemental plane in a protective case, a signal whistle, and a pouch containing 15 gp
Faring the Elemental Chaos or another elemental plane has steeped you in elemental energy. You gain your choice of one of the following feats:
• Elemental Adept (Player’s Handbook)
• Elemental Disciple (Manual of the Planes)
• Resilience of the Elemental Chaos (Manual of the Planes)
In addition, you know how to find discounted (sometimes even free) passage on any vehicle you and your allies assist in operating, such as a ship.
Suggested Characteristics
Riding the waves of elemental energy requires a certain degree of pluck and gumption. The Elemental Navigator Personality Traits table suggests traits you might adopt for your character.

| 1 | I have no fear of natural phenomena. |
| 2 | I have an irrational fear of a certain element. |
| 3 | I have the habit of pointing out unique shapes and patterns that occur in nature, such as sediment layers in rocks or the magnetic properties of fire. |
| 4 | My heart is ice cold or a lump of coal, literally. |
| 5 | I always try to predict the day’s weather. Sometimes I’m even right. |
| 6 | I can always tell which way is north. At least, I think so. |
