Yours is a bond of kin, and kind. Your people are scattered throughout the Northlands, and you hunt in the same wilds as your ancestors. The way of life you live is not for the faint of heart. Brutal winters and unpredictable harvests have ensured that anyone that make their home here, must rely on one another to survive. Your alliances are varied and you are loyal to those that offer the same in kind. The North is your home, and you will do whatever you must, ally with whomever will aid, to protect your lands from all that seek to destroy it.
- Skill Proficiencies: Your instincts and understanding of The North make you formidable to anyone that wanders onto your lands. You know how to use the terrain and even the weather to your advantage in protecting your home and people. Always alert, always on the prowl. Your enemies rarely know you are there before they are already dead. You have proficiency in Stealth, and either Perception or Survival.
- Tool Proficiencies: Your community shares the responsibilities of keeping one another alive. Whether through a harsh winter, or a bountiful harvest, everyone plies their hands to the trades that keep the community stable and as self-sufficient as possible. You gain proficiency in a tool of your choosing.
- Languages: Trade supports your way of life. You have trade agreements with the denizens of The North, and into the highlands to the south. The Dwarven cities and fortresses are often your first port of call for supplies, or needs you are unable to secure on your own. You can speak Dwarfish, and another language of your choosing.
Generations of your people have lived in The North and adapted to its extremes and dangers. Being caught in a blizzard, or in an alpine forest after dark can lead to certain death for anyone that is not prepared. Due to these adaptations, you have a strategic advantage in weathering the elements and stalking your prey. These skills serve you well even outside The North's borders. You have resistance to cold damage, and have advantage on Perception checks to recognize any threats that may be within range.
