You were taken in at a young age, off the nasty streets, out of the woods, or stolen from clan or peoples...Your new family became a network of criminals, spies, thieves and murderers. You were raised by all of them, the community that makes up the Underguild where your parents. You were taught how how to be a thief, a spy, a bruiser, or some skill to make you useful to the guild, and you put it to use on the daily for your family.

Criminal Specialty

There are many kinds of criminals, and within a thieves’ guild or similar criminal organization, individual members have particular specialties. Even criminals who operate outside of such organizations have strong preferences for certain kinds of crimes over others. Choose the role you played in your criminal life, or roll on the table below.

Feature: Underguild Status

You have grown up in the guild and have been working for them since you were a child, your life and livelihood you owe to the guild, you are a loyal working member of the guild. You have responsibilities and benefits. You have status 2 in the Underguild.

You are recognized in the market, you are reliable. You have access to the Frozen Flagon. But most importantly you honor the code, respect the guild, and do what you’re told reliably. You have access to Greater Healing potions, And another vial type poison. Spider Bit,  Injury, 1d6, DC 15, 200 GP (Max 2) (Can be used for one melee strike, or applied to three pieces of ammunition, requires an action to apply.)

Criminals might seem like villains on the surface, and many of them are villainous to the core. But some have an abundance of endearing, if not redeeming, characteristics. There might be honor among thieves, but criminals rarely show any respect for law or authority.

Variant Underchild: Spy

Although your capabilities are not much different from those of a burglar or smuggler, you learned and practiced them in a very different context: as an espionage agent. You might have been an officially sanctioned agent of the crown, or perhaps you sold the secrets you uncovered to the highest bidder.
