You have managed to immortalize yourself, not in legend, but in truth. Through the use of forbidden magic, you have sealed your soul away inside an item, to be found by an unsuspecting adventurer. When you are inevitably found, you take over the mind and heart of whomever may lay their hands on you. Possession is never easy though, as you must fight the will of the host constantly. In the end though, when they die, you will live on.
- Skill Proficiencies: Choose two from among Arcana, Investigation, Religion, or Survival
- Languages: Choose one exotic language (Abyssal, Celestial, Deep Speech, Draconic, Infernal, Primordial, Sylvan, or Undercommon)
- Equipment: A monster hunter’s pack (see the sidebar), a set of common clothes, and one item from your past life.
The Facade
You are a creature of many faces, lives, and personalities. You master the art of impersonation, so much so that the host's mind bleeds into your own. Their traits become yours, and mix with your own to create a new persona.

The Facade |
1
Greed led you down a path to the dark arts, and now you seek riches and power in every host.
2
Using the dark arts to exchange your original body has consequences, which you cannot escape. You regularly keep yourself up at night thinking about them.
3
You simply wanted to elongate your life, so when you were approached by cultists who promised it, you obliged blindly. Now you are stuck within a cursed item.
4
Your family has a history of practicing the dark arts. You dabbled once and felt something horrible clutch at your soul, whereupon you were pulled in and taken from your original body.
5
You came across a priest sharing lies of immortality. This drove you to think about immortality and led you to seal your soul.
6
You were cursed with an uncurable disease. In an attempt to rid yourself of it, you sold your body in exchange for your life.
7

8
You did terrible things to avenge the murder of someone you loved. You became a monster, and your twisted mind sees it as acceptable.
Feature: Shared Body
You have memories and thoughts that are not your own. This results in an excess of information at your fingertips about your current host. Whether they know some wealthy merchant, or have a talent for blacksmithing, you aquire all their recent memories.
Suggested Characteristics
You have much experience with death. In fact, it almost suits you. Bereavement is pointless and guilt is non-exsistent, even looking at and touching dead bodies does not bother you.
