You were never meant to be here. No one knows where you came from, and if they ask, your answers are never quite the same. Maybe you stepped into someone else’s life, taking their name, their face, their memories—just enough to pass unnoticed. Or maybe you’ve always been lurking, watching, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Whether you are a master infiltrator, a faceless killer, or something far worse in disguise, one truth remains: you don’t belong, and you never did.

People sense something is off about you, though they can never quite place it. You move too smoothly, your words come just a little too rehearsed, and your eyes? They don’t blink as often as they should. You thrive in deception, manipulating those around you into turning on each other while you slip away unnoticed. Friendships, alliances, entire organizations—nothing is beyond your ability to dismantle. One by one, you eliminate obstacles, leaving no trace but an overwhelming sense of paranoia and doubt. By the time they realize what you are, it’s already too late.

Feature: Sus?

You are a master at blending in. When interacting with a group, you can always make at least one member second-guess another person’s trustworthiness through subtle body language, half-truths, and calculated phrasing. Additionally, you can create a false alibi that, unless backed by hard evidence, makes you seem innocent to most observers.

Suggested Characteristics

Your existence is a game of deception, a constant balancing act between truth and lies, trust and manipulation. Every interaction is a calculated move, every word carefully chosen to avoid suspicion or shift blame onto another. You have learned to read people, to exploit their doubts and insecurities, bending them to your will without them ever realizing it. Some impostors revel in the chaos they create, while others see it as a necessary means to an end—whether for survival, power, or some deeper, more enigmatic purpose. But no matter how well you blend in, the nagging question lingers at the back of your mind: who were you before you became this? Or worse—was there ever a real “you” to begin with?

Variant Feature: Emergency Meeting

Once per long rest, you can force an immediate group discussion (stopping all combat or actions for 1 minute). During this time, you can attempt to frame a target, causing others to distrust or suspect them (DC 15 Insight check to resist). However, if your deception is uncovered, you become the prime suspect instead.
