Before the surge, weavers were respectable adventures originating from inside the enclave and wielded powerful and helpful spells. Until the surge, a giant war which left the enclave struggling and soon the keese, a powerful race of magical constructs created by the enclave and their soldier counter parts the arks, turned against and massacred the citizens of the enclave.  Therefore turning their creators the weavers into disrespected travellers who now get blamed for the surge.
