Aristotlelian Image

You come from a humble social rank, but you have been habituated for so much more. Already the people of your home village regard you as their role-model, and your destiny calls you to stand as an exemplar for the common folk everywhere. You are the model of the life-worth-living who never offers too much or too little but always the moderate response. Your every action is deliberate and controlled.

Suggested Characteristics

An Aristotelian is one of the common people, for better or for worse. Most of these heroes look on their humble origins as a virtue, not a shortcoming, and their home communities remain very important to them. Phroenesis would not have been possible without the practical and scientific lessons you learned back at home.

d8 Personality Trait
1 I judge people by the sum of their actions, not their words. Unless I have seen an individual perform an action in the past the dc for any of my insight checks is 18.
2 I always find the moderate solution, even when the heroic thing to do is excessive. If the DC for an action is twice my skill modifier or if the AC for the monster is equal to or higher than my constitution modifier, then I must roll 10 or higher or flee.
3 I always learn from my mistakes, but sometimes akrasia causes me to err. Once/day the DM can cause you to roll a d20 if the result is a 4 or lower then you must do the opposite of what you believe will work in the situation.
4 I won't fight if I know that there is a good chance I will die. Roll a d20 when facing any monster whose HP are more than the sum of the party's HP, DC is 15 or you must flee.
5 I’m confident in my own abilities and do what I can to instill confidence in others.
6 I always have to verbally deliberate before I act, even in dangerous or stealthy situations.
7 I don't always tell the truth, but for some reasons others can always tell when I am withholding or lying. -4 on all deception roles.
8 I sometimes get the overwhelming urge to 1)eat raw meat 2) eat human flesh 3)live as a hermit 4)respond to a question with violence. Once/day the DM can require you to roll a d20 if the result is less than 5 you must roll a d4 then complete that action.
