Suggested Characteristics

Kantians are defined by their extensive studies, and their characteristics reflect this life of study and their rigid metaphysics. Devoted to scholarly pursuits, a kantian values knowledge highly—sometimes in its own right, sometimes as a means toward other ideals.

d8 Personality Trait
1 I use polysyllabic words that convey the impression of great erudition.
2 I’ve read every book in the world’s greatest libraries—or I like to boast that I have.
3 I’m used to helping out those who aren’t as normal as I am, and I patiently explain anything and everything to others.
4 There’s nothing I like more than a good moral conflict.
5 I’m willing to listen to every side of an argument before I make my own judgment.
6 I … speak … slowly … when talking … to those ...I believe... are heteronymous, … which … almost … everyone … is … compared … to me.
7 I am horribly, horribly rigid in social situations.
8 I’m convinced that people never try to treat me as a tool.
d6 Ideal
1 Rational. I believe that logic can solve any phenomenal problem not involving the gods.
2 Consistency. I always behave according to the same line of reasoning.
3 Logic. Emotions must not cloud our logical thinking.
4 Full Disclosure. I always answer questions completely, and honestly.
5 Samaritan. If I can help others without harming myself I will.
6 Planner. I consider the future to maximizes choices for my future self.
d6 Bond
1 It is my duty to treat all potential people in a way that protects their autonomy.
2 Its my duty to act only after I have considered whether the action could be a universal maxim.
3 I will never allow others to treat me a tool for their pleasure and I return the favor.
4 I require a written contract before doing literally anything.
5 I despise heteronymy and but I refuse to be cruel because it would harm my own autonomy.
6 I believe that should implies can so I do my best to always do what I believe is right, even when it is hard or counter intuitive.
d6 Flaw
1 Foreseeable bad consequences. I must act according to my maxims even when doing so could lead to my death or the deaths of my friends.
2 Hypocrite. I often do not follow my own maxims but I always berate others too. Roll a d4 to determine which prohibition you do regularly. 1) Intoxicants 2) Sex 3)Lying 4) Break Contracts
3 Impersonal. I have a hard time seeing the other races and genders as persons, which I freely admit, but that rarely affects how I treat them. However, if choosing between saving one of my own or another I will always choose the one like me.
4 High Standards. I often loose friendships and self efface because of my high standards.
5 Honest to a Fault. I always answer with the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. When a monster or villain asks a question and a truthful answer would disadvantage you or the group, the answer is automatically provided by the DM on your behalf.
6 I can’t keep a secret to save my life, or anyone else’s.
