The Omenbearer Image

"The crows gather, whispering secrets of misfortune in the wind. Where I walk, calamity follows. It is not my doing… merely my purpose."

You were once shackled—by fate, by a curse, by a cruel master. But something granted you freedom at a terrible cost: now, you are bound to fulfill prophecies of doom. You don’t just foretell misfortune—you bring it. Some whisper that you are cursed, others that you are a divine punishment in disguise.

Your presence alone unsettles those around you. Once per long rest, you can invoke your status as an omen, causing one of the following effects:

  • Dreadful Presence: NPCs you interact with are unnerved, making them more susceptible to persuasion or intimidation. You have advantage on one Charisma check against them.
  • Fate’s Warning: You mutter a cryptic prophecy about someone nearby (creature, NPC, or object). The next time they roll a natural 1 within 24 hours, it happens in the worst way possible—DM’s choice.
  • Crow’s Shadow: When staying in a town or settlement, you can spread a rumor of impending doom. Within a day, people begin acting paranoid, afraid that disaster is near.
