Botanical Historian
Your familiarity with paleobotany grants you knowledge of obscure genetic relationships between different plants and fungi (especially those that you study within your subfield) and can more easily use them for any poultice or salve you make. You can also determine their uses, be they medicinal, poisonous, recreational, or used as alchemical components. You can usually find them with ease while you’re out in the world. Your DM may rule that while you know where they should be, they may be rare, grow in a dangerous location, or otherwise be difficult to obtain.
Suggested Characteristics
Plantsmen have an understanding that the diversity of plants hinges upon their location in the world, so many take to adventuring to expand their knowledge and collection of herbs and fungi to better serve their goals. Others might want to provide their services in new places to new people, and perhaps claim a little bit more renown than they would have staying in one place.
