Covey Wanderer Image

You are a Covey Wanderer, part of a nomadic group of entertainers known for their enchanting songs, haunting tales, mesmerizing performances, and mistrusted reputation. Covey folk are performers, rogues, and keepers of long forgotten secrets, moving from city to city and living just on the edge of society. Your life has been molded by the constant travel, mistrustful townsfolk, and the unbreakable bonds of those who travel with you. Whether you left willingly or were forced apart from the Covey, you now roam on your own, carrying with you their songs, stories, and a hint of shadowed mystery.

Skill Proficiencies: Performance, Stealth.
Tool Proficiencies: One musical instrument of your choice, Thieves' Tools.
Languages: One additional language of your choice.
Equipment: A musical instrument (one of your choice), a token from the Covey (a small charm, a locket, or a piece of jewelry), a set of travelers' clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp.

Feature: Whisper of the Wanderer

You are skilled in the art of blending in and slipping away unnoticed. You are able to find shelter, food, and safe passage with traveling performers, outcasts, or other nomadic groups who are sympathetic to the Covey. Additionally, your reputation as a Covey Wanderer precedes you—whether that earns you wary glances, cautious hospitality, or outright hostility depends on where you are.

When performing for a crowd or weaving tales, you can subtly influence your audience’s emotions, planting fear, awe, or trust through carefully chosen words or melodies. This ability may help you gain information, distract guards, or manipulate others in social situations.
