You grew up as a member of the Chahoshi tribe, an indigenous tribe that live in Bird Valley, a beautiful forested valley in the mountains. The Chahoshi revere birds and guide their culture based on a complex astrology of bird signs under which one is born. Though somewhat isolated, they have an advanced culture rivaling any city.
Your people have always held true to the nature spirits that steward your land. The matrilineal and community-focused ways of your people have kept you strong and prosperous. With recent trade through mountain passages, the long isolation of the Chahoshi is now impacted by the frequent visitors from other lands coming to Bird Valley.
Chahoshi astrology has a powerful impact on a person, and the birdsign you were born under reveals much about your life, personality, and your destiny, as well as giving you your name. All Chahoshi identify by their given name and their birdname: _____feather. Someone born under the sign of the Eagle has the name Eaglefeather, for example. Families are communal, arranged more by clan than blood relation.
