Couriers make a living connecting others over great distances. Whether it be through hail, rain, or sunshine, couriers have always made sure that the mail is delivered. They are trusted by kings, merchants, and the common folk alike to make sure that no message arrives too late. A courier is no stranger to danger either, between rough weather and bandits trying to steal precious cargo, couriers must be able to protect both themselves and their cargo at a moment's notice. Being a courier may not be the most glorious job, but it's a simple and necessary one that pays decent coin.

How did you come upon this job? Are you a personal messenger for a great noble, or are you part of a Courier's Guild? Was this a family job, or one you just happened to stumble upon? Do you have family elsewhere, and how often do you see them between your travels? How do you feel about your constant traveling? These are all questions to consider when creating your courier.

Feature: A Living Atlas

Due to the nature of your job, you have studied every map available to you from top to bottom and front to back. This allows you to instantly recognize geographical features and landmarks of your surrounding area and, in the absence of a map and compass, pinpoint the general location you are in and the direction you are headed. You can also spend a long rest drawing a moderately detailed map of your surrounding area, at your DM's discretion.

Suggested Characteristics

Their interactions with these diverse peoples can shape their personalities and ideals, while their flaws may come from their bonds elsewhere or their roaming nature.
