Thunderjaw Pitborn Image

You were forged in the roar of the crowd and the blood-soaked sands of Bloodpit Hold. Whether raised as a shieldling, trained as a duel-born warrior, or adopted after surviving your first trial in the arena, you are Thunderjaw. Every scar tells your story. Every strike is your truth.

Skill Proficiencies: Athletics, Intimidation
Tool Proficiencies: Smith’s Tools or Drum (used for war rhythm, chanting, or announcing)
Languages: Giant or Orc (reflecting the war chants and arena rites of the Pact)
Equipment:

  • A crude bone token engraved with the Thunderjaw crest (a jawbone pierced by a lightning bolt)

  • A shard of the first weapon you broke in battle

  • A worn armband or braided rope gifted after your first sanctioned duel

  • A set of traveler's clothes marked with old arena bloodstains

  • A pouch containing 10 gp and a war chant scroll or carved battle mantra

Feature: Duelborn Reputation

You carry yourself like a warrior—and others feel it. You can request formal trials or ritual combat to resolve disputes among martial cultures, and warriors, pit fighters, or mercenaries are inclined to respect your presence (or challenge you). In places that value strength or honor in battle, you are offered safe passage, sparring opportunities, or work as a champion-for-hire.

Additionally, you can always find the local pit, brawling den, or arena—your instincts draw you toward places of combat like a warhound to blood.

Suggested Characteristics

Pitborn are bold, proud, and intense. They live by steel, oath, and grit. Many wear their scars like medals, speak like every word might lead to a challenge, and believe that the gods themselves watch each duel fought with honor.
