You were once divine. Perhaps a minor god of song, war, judgment, secrets, or the storm. You walked the heavens, basked in worship, and bent reality to your will.
Then came your fall.
The reasons are lost—cast from memory by fate, the gods, or your own hand. You may have been punished, betrayed, or volunteered. Now, bound to mortal form, you wander the world in search of purpose, vengeance, redemption—or a way back to the throne you once ruled.
Divinity still flickers in you, faint as an ember in snow. Mortals feel it when they meet your eyes.
They don’t know what you are.
But you do.
- Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, Intimidation
- Tool Proficiencies: Calligrapher’s supplies or one musical instrument
- Languages: Celestial, one language of your choice (often related to your former domain)
You no longer possess your godhood, but fragments remain.
-
Once per long rest, you can manifest a Divine Echo, channeling a sliver of your former power.
-
For 1 minute, you exude an aura of awe or dread (your choice). Hostile creatures within 10 feet must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus) or have disadvantage on attack rolls against you until the start of their next turn.
-
Allies within 10 feet gain advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed during this time.
-
This effect may subtly reflect your lost domain—flames lick your skin, whispers echo around you, or a corona of light crowns your head.
DMs may grant additional narrative effects based on your domain of origin.
Suggested Characteristics
Though your powers are gone, your mind still echoes with divine thought. Some Falling Gods cling to old arrogance, others grieve their loss. Few can deny the weight of what they once were.
