Exiled Baitiri Image

You were born among the fierce Baitiri tribes of Chult, a people who ride dinosaurs and treat the jungle like their ancestral warpaint. But something went wrong—perhaps you broke a taboo, lost a duel, questioned a chieftain, or failed in your rite of passage. Now you're cast out. Alone. Hated. Free.

You walk the world with the instincts of a predator and the heart of a survivor. You may dream of reclaiming honor… or burning everything you once called home.

Skill Proficiencies: Nature, Intimidation
Tool Proficiencies: Poison kit OR Herbalism kit
Languages: Because of the amount of Dragon borns, wyrms and even true dragons in the jungle, your tribe has passed down knowledge of the Draconic language.
Equipment: An inexpensive but unusual weapon or a musical instrument (one of your choice), the favor of an admirer (love letter, lock of hair, or trinket), a costume, and a pouch containing 15 gp

Feature: Outcast’s Guile

Years of surviving without a tribe have made you cunning. You can find safe paths through dense wilderness, hidden routes others might miss, and signs of danger others overlook.

  • When in jungle or swamp terrain, you can always find food and fresh water for up to 2 small creatures, provided they are willing to eat herbs / mushrooms and that the land is not magically barren.

  • You can also earn a modest living by serving as a jungle guide, scout, or trapper wherever wild terrain is nearby.

  • You have a reputation among certain wildfolk, smugglers, or mercenaries—some may respect you for surviving exile. Others may try to use you… or finish what your tribe started.

Suggested Characteristics

If they survive the first month or two, Exiled Baitiri are often shaped by harsh jungle living, bitter tribal politics, and the pain of abandonment. Whether driven by shame, rage, or survival instinct, they carry the scars of their past both physically and emotionally. Some seek redemption, others revenge—or simply the freedom to live without chains. The jungle has taught them to be cunning, suspicious, and resilient. Yet beneath the hardened surface, some exiles still yearn for connection, honor, or a sense of belonging.

Contacts

As an exile, your past haunts you in the form of scattered connections—some enemies, some allies, and some that blur the line. You might know reclusive jungle sages, tribal warriors who secretly sympathized with your cause, rival exiles wandering the wilds, or smugglers who helped you escape. Your name may be known among bounty hunters, monster hunters, or mercenaries who respect (or resent) your survival. While many doors are closed to you, your resilience and reputation often grant you access to circles where strength and cunning matter more than status.

d4 Contact
1 Old sparring partner. A former training rival from your tribe who sometimes leaves you warnings or supplies in secret.
2 A Jungle guide. A pragmatic local who helped you escape the tribe’s territory. Not a friend, but not an enemy either.
3 Wandering priest. A kind traveler who patched your wounds and gave you food once. They remember your name.
4 Mercenary recruiter. A rough old soldier who saw you fight and told you there’s always work for someone who knows how to hurt.
