Partially Blind Image

You once had full sight, but a violent moment took that from you. Whether in war, a magical accident, or a betrayal, you lost the use of one eye — and with it, the certainty and depth that came with clear vision. Though the world appears flatter and more uncertain now, you’ve adapted in ways others often overlook. You’ve learned to watch people with care, to listen deeply, and to never again let your guard down completely.

Skill Proficiencies: Insight and Survival
Tool Proficiencies: One of your choice (gaming set, artisan's tools, or disguise kit)
Languages: One of your choice
Equipment: Choose A or B: (A) worn eyepatch, traveler's clothes, mirror, and 10 GP; or (B) 50 GP

Feature: Feat: Peripheral Caution

Losing vision in one eye limits your field of view and makes depth perception difficult. You gain disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks involving visual awareness of things in your blind side (typically left or right, DM's discretion), and ranged attack rolls made at long range.

However, this vulnerability has made you far more cautious and deliberate. When you are surprised in combat, you can immediately make a DC 10 Insight check to avoid being surprised, interpreting subtle changes in behavior or sound.

In social situations, people sometimes underestimate you due to your injury, granting you advantage on one Charisma (Deception) or (Persuasion) check per long rest when playing the role of someone weak, helpless, or overlooked.
