Those few adventurers who have pasts as blind ones will most likely have this background. You were blind as a child, and maybe still are, (your choice) yet by some miraculous happening, your blindness fell away and you could see as well as most. The miracle could have been a touch of a fey, leading to the status of a magic user, a dunk in a sacred pool, a blessing by a spirit of nature, growing a feeling of love between you and the natural world, leading you to become a druid. What ever the miracle, you have been touched by something special, and that has left a mark on you.
- Skill Proficiencies: You gain proficiency in the insight skill.
- Languages: Since you lost the ability to really express yourself through writing, reading, or much physical movement, you dedicated your self to learning how to speak as many languages as possible. You can speak Common Sign Language and one other language of your choice.
You grew up unable to see anything with your eyes, so you learned to use your other senses. When you are in complete darkness, or any other form of darkness, magical or not, you can tell who is where and what is who and all that within 10 feet of you.
Instead of losing your sight, you lost your hearing. Or, in exchange for sight, a demon offered you when you were a child the deal that you could see if you lost your hearing. What ever the reason, you have lost something different, leaving a different mark upon you.
Just as long as you can see a persons lips, and you understand the language they are speaking, you can always understand them, no matter what.
