Note: This background is intended to be used only by characters of the Crimson Koraidon race. While mechanically available to others due to system limitations, its effects are balanced and narratively designed with Crimson Koraidons in mind.
- Skill Proficiencies: You have honed your ability to sense emotional weakness and project overwhelming force. You gain proficiency in Insight and Intimidation
- Tool Proficiencies: You’ve repaired armor and shaped weapons by sheer will. You are proficient with Smith’s Tools, and one musical instrument that speaks to the rare peace you once knew.
- Languages: You speak one additional language of your choice, typically one tied to your origin or those you protect.
- Equipment: You carry a broken pendant from someone you couldn’t save, a bloodstained scrap of cloth wrapped around scorched metal, Smith’s Tools, a set of common clothes, and a belt pouch containing 10 gp.
You have an innate sense for emotional wounds. When interacting with others, you can intuit when someone carries deep trauma, suppressed pain, or hidden emotional scars. You gain advantage on Insight checks when attempting to detect these emotions.
Additionally, once per long rest, when you witness an ally or innocent creature suffer a critical hit or drop to 0 HP, your instincts trigger a focused surge of primal fury. Until the start of your next turn, you gain resistance to all damage and advantage on your next Strength-based attack roll.
