Creator's Note: This background is meant to be flexible. It's designed to make most sense as a hedge wizard but also to be adaptable for other magical origins. Feel free to use this on characters that are hedge wizards, magical scholars, burgeoning wizards/warlocks, individuals with minor sorcerous powers, and the like.

As a hedge wizard, you have minor magical knowledge, though not nearly enough to match even a first-level wizard. You know the Prestidigitation cantrip. Additionally, you are able to use any spell scroll, as long as it is a cantrip or a spell of 3rd level or lower.

The tough and somewhat unstable life of a hedge wizard may also affect both traits and flaws. Their flaws might be the belief that they are superior, above the common and nonmagical people. Conversely, they could feel like they are not good enough and don't deserve their power.
