“The truth is… the game was rigged from the start.”

You were once a humble courier, trusted with transporting letters, parcels, or even more sensitive cargo across vast and dangerous lands. But something changed—something about one job went sideways. Now, you’re not just a delivery person… you’re a survivor, a traveler, and maybe something more. You’ve walked through fire, crossed wastelands, faced death—and delivered anyway.

Skill Proficiencies: Survival, Perception
Tool Proficiencies: Gaming set: Playing Cards. The Courier is a gambler.
Languages: Orc because The Courier is charismatic enough to talk to those brutish beasts.
Equipment: A courier satchel with multiple compartments

A keepsake from a job that nearly killed you (e.g., a bloodstained package, a burned letter)

A map marked with old delivery routes

Traveler’s clothes

A belt pouch containing 15 gp

Feature: Dead Man Walking

You should be dead—but you’re not, and people can feel it. Whether through myth, rumor, or raw aura, there’s something unsettling about you. Commoners speak of you in whispers. Criminals hesitate. Enemies who kill without mercy still second-guess pulling the trigger. You gain the following benefits:

  • You can often avoid unnecessary conflict with NPCs who are intimidated by your reputation or aura.
  • You always know the direction of the last person who tried to kill you (even if you don’t consciously realize it, you feel it).
  • People familiar with danger may treat you with awe, fear, or morbid curiosity, offering favors, information, or warnings when they learn who you are.

This doesn’t work on everyone—but in the right places, being a living legend opens doors others can’t even see.
