Wasteland Outlaw’s Quirk

The wasteland leaves its mark on everyone. Roll on this table to determine a signature trait or quirk born of your life beyond the law.

d6 Quirk
1 You always light a cigarette before a fight.
2 You keep a memento from every person you’ve killed.
3 You talk to your gun as if it’s a person.
4 You compulsively carve tally marks into walls and furniture.
5 You sleep with your weapon under your pillow.
6 You refuse to kill animals unless starving.

Feature: Wasteland Network

You have cultivated a loose web of informants, scavengers, smugglers, and desperate survivors who pass information through hidden channels. You can reliably send messages to, or receive warnings and rumors from, your network no matter where you are in the wasteland. This makes it easier to track bounties, uncover the whereabouts of your enemies, or source illegal tech and weaponry.

At your DM’s discretion, this contact can provide minor favors, intel, or leads on rare salvage.

Suggested Characteristics

Outlaws of the wasteland are survivors, killers, and drifters with hardened hearts and unbreakable grudges. Some are cold pragmatists; others, reckless avengers. All are shaped by tragedy and the ruthless law of the gun. Use the following traits, ideals, bonds, and flaws to inspire your character’s roleplaying choices.

Contacts

The wasteland is a patchwork of broken loyalties and desperate pacts. You have one or more underworld contacts — smugglers, salvagers, tech-runners, or old allies from your outlaw days. These contacts may occasionally provide information, resources, or safe passage. Their reliability depends on your reputation and how many names you’ve crossed off your list.

Variant Wasteland Outlaw: Relentless Vindicator

You aren’t just an outlaw — you’re a revenant, a gun-for-hire with a score to settle. Whether driven by revenge, blood feud, or unbreakable loyalty to the dead, you pursue your targets with obsessive focus. Where others flee or compromise, you press forward, no matter the odds. In addition to your criminal contacts, you keep a private kill-list and an ironclad code of personal retribution.
