Abandoned as an infant in the wilds, you were adopted by a (regionally appropriate) animal or set of animals. You learned their ways, and even learned to communicate with them on a rudimentary way. In the middle of your formative years, you are located by civilized men. Perhaps a wandering group of adventures or a mercenary band that ply their trade in the area. You were brought back to civilization, and attempts were made to reintegrate you into society, though sometimes, the old ways of your youth surface with savage results.
You begin your adventuring career with enough money to live modestly but securely for at least ten days. How did you come by that money? What allowed you to break free of your desperate circumstances and embark on a better life?
- Skill Proficiencies: Survival, Stealth
- Tool Proficiencies: Leather armor, Adventure's Kit
- Equipment: A small knife, a map of the city you were brought to, a token of your childhood, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp
You understand how the wild places work and the hierarchy of the animal world. You know how to pass unseen through the wilds and trick predators. When you are not in combat, you (and companions you lead) can travel between any two locations in the wild twice as fast as your speed would normally allow.
Suggested Characteristics
A feral child is shaped by how they are raised. A child raised by wolves with think in terms of the pack (their adventuring group) while one raised by great apes may have a slightly different take on how members should interact. Characters with this background can easily stomach foods that would be unpalatable to "civilized" people.
