because your parents were loyal steeds and partners of two legged soldiers, you were trained for war as a war steed as part of your schooling. so you always carry equipment that will help you on the battlefield and you keep up your training in case you are called into war as a soldier's steed or when and if you find a two legged mercenary that will become your forever rider, forever friend, and forever ally.

as a steed looking for who will be your forever rider, you have a gift to your rider called "Rider's Gift". all the artisan's tools, all the healer's kits, 1 tent, 1 bedroll, 1 blanket, 1 shovel, and the military saddle gained from using this background are the gift items inside the "rider's gift". You equip a bag of holding as the container for the "rider's gift" and you rename it "Rider's Gift". you cannot use anything inside the "Rider's Gift" for the items inside it are special items used by your forever rider. anything that is put inside the "Rider's gift" is then made weightless and you no one, including you, except your forever rider, can take anything out of your "Riders Gift". after the D&D campaign you are a part of finishes but if you have a found your forever rider, then you give your "Rider's Gift" to your forever rider.
