You were once alive. Now you are something else—stitched, carved, forged, or assembled. A spark of soul and will fuels your form, bound by tragedy, magic, or vengeance. Whether created by accident, desperation, or divine mystery, you walk not for your own sake... but for what was lost.
- Skill Proficiencies: Stealth, Insight
- Tool Proficiencies: Tinker’s tools or Thieves’ tools (your choice), and one artisan’s tool that reflects your past (e.g., Weaver’s tools, Woodcarver’s tools, or Calligrapher’s tools)
- Languages: Choose one (you remember how to speak it, even if you no longer remember who taught you)
You can blend seamlessly into environments by pretending to be an inanimate object. When you remain motionless and make no sound, creatures must succeed on an Investigation check (DC = 8 + your Deception + your Dexterity modifier) to realize you are alive. While disguised, you gain advantage on checks to avoid detection and may listen or observe unnoticed.
In towns or homes, children or animals may treat you as a toy or curiosity rather than a threat—at least at first.
Suggested Characteristics
Your nature as a revenant construct affects your identity, goals, and emotions. Some barely remember their lives; others cling to every detail.
