Cartographers, The scholar and Adventurer
You have travelled far and wide in order to record the lay of the land, selling your maps across the multiverse. You have spend hours observing land and letting your hand draw it's contour onto parchment, with the ability to quickly traverse even difficult terrain. The wilderness can be treacherous, and your ability to adapt to both weather and your surroundings makes you great at camouflage.
The Road to Becoming a Cartographer
True cartographers have attended the Cartographers Academy, which can be found across the multiverse. Here you have spend hours poring over old maps and understanding thier significance. Geography, trigonometry, and basic survival skills, because theory can only take you so far. After 3 years at the academy, you will specialize in a field of cartography for the 2 remaining years of your education.
Cartographer Specialisation
Technical Map Drawer is for those who seek to understand the technicality and intercracy of map making, and expertly redraw maps givin to them by cartographers in the field. Works by this type of cartographer is often found in books and other forms os recorded history; these maps are often stamped as "official" maps, and a copy is always archived in the Academy vault.
Cartographer Historian is focused on the history of map making, and mostly spends thier time either seeking after old maps or at the acdemey aiding Technical Drawers In updating old maps. Furthermore, they can look at a map and estimate its origin and it's age simply by studying it, they also understand the significance of histroic maps and thier impact on border battles, etc. These cartographers are also responsible for teaching new students.
Combat Cartographer This type of cartographer is for those who likes a good thrill , as they aid commanders in the heat of batlle on the fronlines. They specialse in battlemaps, and gives advice on terrain, and weather in combat scenarios. They will record the positions of troops on thier map, and when a battle is done, they will turn thier map in to the academey to be recorded. Although they are not part of the actual fighting, they do sometimes see direct combat and need to defend themselves. They are givin a Whip for defense purposes but also for utility, along with a dagger for the same porpuse.
Adventuring Cartographer This type of cartographer are the ones who actually survey and record the land, and will often do so alone. Therefore, they are given additional survival training; they are adept at traversing difficult terrain and biomes. Furthermore, they are capable of making precise measurements in the field and excel in math and trigonometry.
The Cartographers Guild
When you are finished with your education, you will be automatically invited into the Cartographers Guild. The guild do a plethora of activities relating to cartography, a a member you will gain acess to the Cartographer Academies across the multiverse, aswell as thier libraries and vaults.
