Through some chain of events or circumstances, you’ve been placed in an otherworldly environment of which you do not belong. As such, you are considered alien to the people, places, and even the foundations of the world you now stand in. Many Interlopers cross worlds of their own choice, while few others cross by happenstance. People in such situations are often rare, if at all possible, but to some planes and places, such occurrences are not unheard of. Whether your arrival to this new world was by accident or your own volition is only yours to know, but what you do now is up to you. A new world is at your fingertips, and you must decide your path going forwards.
- Skill Proficiencies: Two skills of your choice
- Tool Proficiencies: One tool kit of your choice
- Languages: One exotic language of your choice
- Equipment: One trinket from your home world, one otherworldly treasure worth 4d4 x 10 gp, and an Explorer’s pack
Your displacement among the multiverse has lent you an ambient shroud of enigma and mystery. Nobody native to this world, save for those you’ve made committed contact with, knows of your existence. As such, you naturally walk with an air of secrecy. Your history in this universe is scarce or nonexistent, allowing you to come and go often unrecognized by others. This allows you to twist your history in flexible, yet believable ways, when your public image fits among the locals. Even so, others also can’t help but feel something’s off about you if they’re ignorant to your true identity, and mildly wary of you if they’re knowledgeable.
Suggested Characteristics
Traveling among the omniverse, whether for a short or long time, often has a way of bringing the rawness out of people. Bearing many experiences beyond the commoner's wildest dreams, even one moment of displacement can cause a drastic change in a person. Think about how long you’ve been displaced, as well as how your experiences shaped who you are now in contrast to when you started.
