You have spent your life in the service of a creature, be it a fiend, or something else out there. You act as an intermediary between the whims of your entity and the mortal world, performing sacred rituals and offering sacrifices in order to conduct worshipers into the presence of the occult.
Choose a major entity(most likely a warlock patron), and work with your DM to detail the nature of your service. Were you a lesser functionary in the hierarchy, raised from childhood to assist the masters in the sacred rites? Or were you a leader who suddenly experienced a call to serve your entity in a different way?
- Skill Proficiencies: Deception, Religion
- Languages: Two of your choice
- Equipment: A symbol of your entity (a symbol of your devotion), an accursed book, 5 red candles, vestments, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 15 gp.
As a cultist, you command the respect of those who share your faith, and you can perform the religious ceremonies of your deity. You and your adventuring companions can expect to receive shelter. Those who share your religion will support you and your allies at a modest lifestyle, however there are risks posed to your allies in this scenario.
You might also have ties to a specific cult dedicated to your chosen entity, and you have a residence there. This could be the temple where you used to serve, if you remain on good terms with it, or a cult where you have found a new home. While near your cult, you can call upon the higher order for assistance, provided the assistance you ask for is not hazardous and you remain in good standing with your cult.
Suggested Characteristics
