A Grave Robber might choose to defile the burial place of another for one of a dozen different reasons - Perhaps they supply bodies to local necromancers for their experiments, perhaps they are looking for a way to resurrect a loved one but cannot afford the prices charged by the clergy to bring a loved one back to life. Not many cultures understand the reasons for a Grave Robber to pry a dead body from the earth, so it's usually done under the cover of darkness, without the permission of the tomb's owner.
