You were not born — you were crafted.
Whether sculpted from marble, shaped from clay, or forged of bronze and steel, you were once an inanimate work of art. Through divine whim, arcane experiment, or the lingering echo of your creator’s soul, you awoke to sentience.
For years—or centuries—you stood silent, watching the world move around you. Now you walk among the living, learning what it means to be one of them. Some see you as a marvel, others as a curiosity, and a few as a blasphemy against nature. But you are determined to find purpose beyond the pedestal you once stood upon.
- Skill Proficiencies: Insight, Performance
- Tool Proficiencies: One type of artisan’s tools (typically those your creator used)
- Languages: One of your choice (perhaps the language of your creator)
- Equipment: A small fragment of the material you were crafted from, a set of artisan’s tools, a simple cloak to conceal your unnatural form, and a pouch containing 10 gp
You know how to remain perfectly motionless, blending into your surroundings as a lifeless statue. When you stay still, casual observers must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom (Perception) check to recognize you as a living creature rather than an inanimate object.
Additionally, you can recall with vivid detail any place or person you’ve observed while standing still for an extended time, as if your mind preserves scenes in perfect stillness.
