Spiritbound Of The Rain Image

“The water remembers. I just listen.”

You were chosen — or perhaps born — to serve as a link between your people and the spirits of the waters. Whether through quiet meditation beside still ponds, croaking chants beneath moonlight, or guided dreams carried on raindrops, you have felt the pulse of life in every ripple.

Some Spiritbound serve as shamans or guardians of their Ponds, others as wanderers tasked with finding where the Great Waters wish to flow next.

Even far from home, you feel the pull of rivers and rain, and the songs of the frogs still echo in your dreams.

Skill Proficiencies:

Nature and Insight

Tool Proficiencies: Herbalism kit
Languages: You can speak, read, and write Primordial
Equipment: A carved wooden charm shaped like a frog or raindrop (your spirit totem), a small clay vial of sacred pond water, traveler’s clothes, an herbalism pouch, and a belt satchel containing 10 gp.

Feature: Voice of the Rain

You can sense subtle shifts in natural water sources — reading omens in ripples and listening for “messages” carried by rainfall.
When you spend at least 10 minutes in quiet focus near a source of natural water (such as a river, pond, or rainfall), you can commune briefly with the water’s essence.
You can learn one of the following, chosen by the DM:

  • The direction to the nearest fresh water source or safe shelter

  • Whether a creature passed nearby recently and its size/type

  • A short vision or impression of a significant event that occurred near the water within the past 24 hours

You can use this feature once per long rest, or at the DM’s discretion when narratively appropriate.

Suggested Characteristics

Spiritbound Grunglets are deeply intuitive, philosophical, and sometimes a little odd. They might interpret dreams as prophecies, speak in riddles, or view every storm as a conversation with the divine.

4 I speak in riddles, frustrating even my allies.
5 I can’t resist touching or tasting new kinds of water, even when it’s unwise.
