combat has been your life for as long as you care to remember. You trained as a youth, studied the use of weapons and armor, learned basic survival techniques, including how to stay alive on the battlefield. You where part of a well known group of mercenaries. during a great battle your company was wiped out. Everyone was thought to be dead, but some how you woke up heavy injured but alive surrounded by the bodies of your brothers and sisters. Now you set out to continue fighting to honor them.
When you choose this background, work with your DM to determine how far through its ranks you progressed, and what kind of experiences you had during your career. and what happen to your two closet friends who lay beside you.

- Equipment: A necklace given to you by your closet friends , a trophy taken from a fallen enemy (a dagger, broken blade, or piece of a banner), a set of bone dice or deck of cards, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 20 GP, martial weapon of choice this weapon you are proficient in.

You still have your insignia from your career as a mercenary . people still recognize your insignia of your company and know of your strength and all the good and bad that your company have done. You can invoke this to exert influence over others to requisition or demand simple equipment or horses for use. You can also gain access to friendly military encampments and fortresses where your recognized ( your DM will determine if they see your insignia as a friendly sight or hostel one ).

The horrors of the battle that took everything from you combined with the rigid discipline of loyal service leave their mark on you , shaping your ideals, creating strong bonds, and often leaving you, scarred and vulnerable to being less trusting, guilt, and hatred.
