Once per long rest, you can perform a short ritual of divination using cards, tea leaves, starlight, or another symbolic method. After 10 minutes, you receive a metaphoric omen, which your DM provides.
The omen is never a direct answer—rather, it is a symbol, image, sound, or impression hinting at the nature of a creature, item, location, or upcoming event.
The omen is intentionally ambiguous, similar to augury or the Wildemount Tides of Chaos visions, and may reveal:
- a general emotional tone (danger, hope, trickery)
- a symbolic image (a red sun, a broken wheel, a silver door)
- a cryptic phrase or sensation
- a clue pointing toward a path or possibility
The omen always relates to the question or subject of your ritual, though the meaning may not be immediately clear.
NPCs familiar with divination often recognize your ability and may seek your counsel—or avoid you out of fear.
Suggested Characteristics
Celestial Diviners are shaped by introspection, symbolism, and the struggle between knowing too much and saying too little. Their personalities blend empathy with mystery, insight with uncertainty.
Though you may speak in riddles or metaphors, you understand that destiny is not a chain but a web—one you only glimpse in flashes.
