You came of age in your home port. Your home was in a hammock in the crew quarters of a 40' Lugger. You saw the wonders and dangers of the ocean — strange monsters, pristine waters, storms with waves higher than the mast— and you learned to fend for yourself as you weathered the storms. From time to time, friendly nature priests instructed you in the fundamentals of channelling the magic of nature and the sea and at times you indulged in free trade landing goods at night in sheltered coves.
