Your inventive mind can turn the simplest scrap into something extraordinary. You can repurpose any set of artisan’s tools or kits as a Tinker’s kit, using what’s at hand to craft, repair, or modify equipment. With enough time, materials, and patience, you can make your upgrades permanent.

During a short rest, you can still make temporary modifications (ie +1 to AC or DMG until short rest), but if you spend 8 hours of dedicated work and materials worth one-quarter of the item’s value, you can craft a lasting improvement such as:

  • Adding spikes, compartments, or hidden mechanisms to armor.

  • Embedding elemental effects (e.g., crackling coils for lightning damage, burning vents for fire).

  • Reinforcing frames or joints for improved durability or special movement.

  • Integrating minor gadgets, lenses, or firing components.

The exact power and permanence of your inventions are at your DM’s discretion and should stay within reasonable balance—your craft is clever, not limitless.

Your tinkerings are reflections of your creativity, filling your companions’ gear with humming energy, clever design, and a touch of wonder that bears your unmistakable mark.

Tinkering to you is meditative; when others rest, you lose yourself in sparks, gears, and chemical fumes. This activity restores your focus rather than depleting it.
