You have worked most of your life so far in the caves and tunnels of a mine or mines. You have helped dig, remove and transport alot of raw natural material and have hence been used to physical labor. Whether you have worked in iron, coal, copper, or gold mines, you have always been there, risking your live on a daily basis to secure the resources for your livelihood.
Your call to adventure have either called you away from the mines by accident or another outside factor, like conscription or a certain artifact that you have found. Or maybe you were lost in the mines one time, or found a hidden passsage, and have begun to delve deeper to discover what hides below. Maybe you have been called to work on a new mine.

You have spend so much time in the mines that you have a much better time navigating them. When you are not in combat, you and companions you lead can travel between any two points in the mines twice as fast as your speed would normally allow. The mines are haunted by dangers that rarely brave the light of the surface world, so your journey isn't guaranteed to be safe.

You are a labourer by trade and hence spend more time using your muscles than your brain. that is not to say that you are necessarily dumb, but you might be more a man of actions than of words. You are vigilante in the mines (lest you might get lost and/or die down there), and compensate with something else while you are above ground.
