You came of age outdoors and spending as much time in the woods as you did at home. Your time spent living and working in the forests honed your skills of perception and your understanding of nature. Of an evening sat by a campfire you whiled away many hours listening to the sounds of the forest, whilst whittling away at a piece of wood - sometimes just for the joy of it, sometimes to create a useful tool or utensil.
