Whether it's brewing potions, enchanting items, or spellcasting, most arcane activities require material components of some type. Many of these are as common as a bit of fleece or a pinch of sand, while others are exceedingly rare and dangerous to acquire.
Component acquisition specialists have spent years in association with their guild learning to identify the minerals, plants, animals, and creatures which have magically reactive properties. They understand the processes and posses the equipment required to collect and preserve various materials for use as spell components.
Specialists receive advantage on skill checks to process and preserve plant and animal matter to prevent spoilage and maintain efficacy for later use. Most specialists refer to themselves as "Picklers."

The standard kit is a small keg which has been split in half and affixed with hinges and a lock, it can be carried slung over the shoulder like a hip pouch, or affixed to the bottom of a backpack. It weighs 10 pounds.
Guild Association:
Picklers in good standing with the guild obtain the following benefits from the association:
Access to the jobs board and consideration for special assignments.
50% discount to replenish their alchemy and herbalist supplies.
Guild commissary will purchase all prepared components at fair market prices.
One time each year associates may trade in their old kit for a new one. If they have no kit to trade in, they will be allowed to purchase a new one at 1/2 the normal cost of the materials.

Suggested Characteristics
Picklers tend to be open minded and logical, they lean towards neutrality and believe in both the spirit and the letter of contracts.
Contacts
Picklers are often employed by larger institutions such as colleges and temples, but are just as likely to be sought out by enchanters, mages, foundries or smiths.
They have a 5% chance per character level of meeting a business contact within any of the professions which require material components in their processes.
