For example, you would know that bloodletters excel in melee combat, but not that they have the blood frenzy trait.

As a librarian, you begin with the following equipment, instead of the equipment given by your class:

- (a) a plasma weapon or (b) a bolt weapon
- (a) a ward against detection or (b) a scribe’s translator
- A headcomm, a scholar's pack, an ancient tome, a shield, two frag grenades, a combat knife (shortsword), and a force weapon.
